President-elect's Message
Hello everyone, I’m so excited to be your 2025 President for the AVHRA Chapter.
Originally being from Chicago, Illinois I thought it would be hard to settle in to smaller towns but that has not been the case. I’m more active and confident in myself than I’ve ever been. Since relocating to the State of Washington back in December 2023 I have been able to transition smoothly and part of that is because I met this group of dynamic Human Resources Professionals who have welcomed me with open arms and well wishes.
With twenty four years of human resources and 7 of them being an executive, I feel I have a vast amount of experience that I’m thrilled to share with you as well as with the communities that we live in and serve. I have a lot ideas that I’m excited to share and looking forward to bringing to fruition in 2025. I know with all of our experiences and ideas together we are going to have a wonderful year and the communities will be able to grow and benefit immensely from what we have to bring to them.
So let’s GET EXCITED everyone and I hope everyone has a good and restful holiday season because we will go into full swing in the new year.

HR 101: Panel Event at CWU
AVHRA, Yakima SHRM, and CWU’s Student SHRM Chapter are coming together to host a free event geared towards students! We will have four wonderful local HR professionals answer questions about what a career in HR looks like, biggest hurdles, and how SHRM supports their career.
