President's Message
AVHRA Members,
As you’re enjoying the last few weeks of what has been a beautiful summer in North Central Washington, we’d like to share some exciting learning opportunities this fall with AVHRA.
On August 27 at 6pm AVHRA members are invited to be our guests at the annual hosted Membership Event at Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery in Wenatchee. As AVHRA members, be our guest with great wine, hors d’oeuvres and networking with fellow HR professionals. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP with Colleen - Colleen.Kunz@confluencehealth.org.
The 4th annual Washington Leadership Summit is at Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort in Leavenworth on September 26 – you can register here. As in the past, we’ve invited senior leaders from some of Washington’s very best workplace cultures to share with our members how to build and sustain a people culture of excellence. And you’ll be our guest for lunch at the award-winning Kingfisher Restaurant as well.
Starting in October, we have two lunch and learns – WA Family and Medical Leave on October 17, and another on November 21, which we’ll be announcing soon.
And finally, AVHRA’s long-running Employment Law Summit returns again on December 12, just in time to get you up to speed on the legal changes all of us will see in the HR landscape in 2020. Two highlights: Dr. Wade Larson’s session "A Time for Civility" will focus on solving harassment and bullying issues in the workplace; and the Employment Security Department will share with us on the paid parental leave program coming in 2020.
We’ve planned a full autumn of learning for you, our members. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
Please feel free to reach out to me or any of the members of the board with questions or ideas for future events.
AVHRA President, Jeremy Jordan, CPLP, SAPM
