    Call for Board Nominations

We have two positions still open.  Now is the time to join the Board and become a part of the wonderful and exciting work we are doing to bring our Apple Valley Chapter to a new level of awesome.  There are many great benefits of volunteering in chapter leadership.  For example, YOU will…

    • Make an impact on the HR profession through leadership and chapter development
    • Be recognized as a leader in the human resources field
    • Improve your competencies and advance yourself professionally
    • Network with peers and colleagues in the HR profession and in our community
    • Attend all chapter meetings and workshops for FREE – this is a tremendous value to you personally and professionally (and a great selling point to your employer)
    • Earn HRCI/SHRM CP-SCP credits for your leadership

As a Board member of AVHRA, our positive energy makes it easy to be an engaged member – this includes representing the Board at all AVHRA events and ten (10) monthly board meetings.

We need your help for continued success.  Please contact me at kpage@wenatcheewa.gov if you are interested or have questions.

      2018 AVHRA $1,000 Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Ricardo Escoto, a graduating senior from Manson High School who plans to attend WSU to major in Human Resources Management.

“This scholarship is meaningful because it will help take away the financial burden of my family.  I come from a large family.  My parents work in agriculture and have always given us anything they could, but paying for college is something they cannot afford.  I am grateful and will not disappoint.  I’m excited to move forward with my life.”

      Upcoming AVHRA Events

Our popular annual Law Summit is scheduled for December 12th and will include a high interest segment on the new Family Medical Leave.  At this event, we will also be hosting our annual silent auction to benefit the SHRM Foundation.  The SHRM Foundation is a nonprofit values-based charity organization whose mission is to champion workforce and workplace transformation. It provides research-based HR solutions for challenging inclusion issues facing current and potential employees, scholarships to educate and develop HR professionals and opportunities for HR professionals to make a difference in their local communities

The infamous Michael Nash will be back in March 2019 with his four-day ‘Excellence in Management’ training series which has been incredibly popular with employers and leadership teams throughout Washington State.

Please see our Event Page for registration information.

      AVHRA Designation

Please double check to make sure you have designated AVHRA as your home chapter.  When you designate us as your home chapter, SHRM provides financial support to assist us in being able to provide you with the programs and certification credits you want.

I look forward to seeing you on December 12th at our Employment Law Summit.

      Sincerely,
      Kari Page, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
      AVHRA President
