RANDY LUNDBERG AWARD
AVHRA has been honored for a second time with the Randy Lundberg Northern Lights Award! The award recognizes outstanding achievement and excellence in overall programming and operations. In addition to our Active Shooter and Annual HR Summit this year, Board members have been focused on giving back to the community. We’ve provided workshops that include resume reviews and tips and techniques on preparing resumes and cover letters and mock interviewing for Washington State University HR students, GEAR UP (a program that targets students from 7th grade through high school to gain early awareness and readiness for undergraduate programs) and displaced ALCOA employees. We were overjoyed to receive this recognition which will be presented at the NHRMA Annual Conference, along with a chapter grant in the amount of $1,000 for future programming!
OPEN AVHRA BOARD POSITION - Certification Chairperson
Serving on a board position has many advantages. Just a few are meeting and getting to know other dedicated HR professionals, SHRM and HRCI recertification credit for serving, and you can also attend all AVHRA workshops and seminars for free! What a great benefit to you and your employer.
AVHRA celebrates Annie Horey, Certification Chairperson who is retiring from the Board after many years of service to AVHRA and the HR community. Although Annie has held a variety of positions on the Board, including president, she will always be appreciated and remembered for her dedication, knowledge and value to all of the HR professionals she mentored in certification study groups since 2001.
If you have a passion to help others, consider the Certification Chairperson position on the AVHRA Board. We’re looking to fill it immediately to continue in our long standing practice of providing a fall certification group.
For more information on this open Board position or others that will be available in 2017, please contact co-presidents Ruth Erwert at ruth@chelanpud.org or Reagan Bellamy at rbellamy@wvc.edu and let us tell you about the many benefits of being part of AVHRA! We also want to hear from you if you’re interested in joining the fall study group for certification. Email Ruth or Reagan immediately for more information.
