HR Assistant/Civil Service Examiner

    Chelan County Human Resources has an opening for an HR Assistant/Civil Service Examiner.

    Summary: Primary responsibilities of the HR Assistant/Civil Service Examiner include running and oversight of the County Civil Service program, including development of testing processes and interview questions and compliance with all applicable WA State laws governing County Civil Service programs. As part of the Human Resources department, the HR Assistant will also be responsible for orientation of new employees, explaining benefits available to employees and enrolling employees in benefit programs. This position assists in recruitment and training; acts as back-up for the Insurance Safety Coordinator; reviews and recommends updates on policies and procedures; and provides assistance to supervisors regarding personnel issues.

    Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred, and 2- 4 years of experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job duties. Experience and knowledge of recruitment, interviewing and test development strongly preferred. Public speaking and/or training experience a plus.

    Salary: $3563-$3741/month DOE plus benefits.
