President's Message

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful spring weather. I am loving the sun.  J

On April 13^th, many of our AVHRA board members worked with Skillsource to provide some general interviewing information for recent Alcoa employees.  The program included tips and techniques, speed interviewing and some general Q&A.  The event was very successful with about 40 recently laid off Alcoa employees attending.

Please remember to join us on Tuesday, May 3^rd, for our Eastern Washington Strategic HR Summit where executives and senior leaders from companies like Google, General Plastics, Archbright, Chelan County PUD and T-Mobile will share the new methods they’re creating to hire better candidates, grow more effective employees, and build better organizations. “The Future of HR, Today” is a full-day HR summit, complete with general and business (strategic) HRCI/SHRM credits. Lunch is provided.  Don’t miss this great local program – a rare opportunity at $75.00 per person. Registrations must be complete by noon on April 25.

As always, we welcome your attendance at our monthly board meetings.  Our next meeting is scheduled for May 19 at noon in the Chelan PUD Auditorium on the corner of 5^th Street and Wenatchee Avenue.  Come and hear what we have planned for the 2^nd half of the year and learn more about board positions that will be open in 2017.  Lunch provided for $9.00 - RSVP to ruth@chelanpud.org
